A New Season Begins…

Hello Hertford music lovers!

I hope you had a good summer and maybe caught some of the wonderful prom concerts on Radio 3.

As usual we have a splendid lineup of concerts for you this year.

treble_clef_faviconComing up on 18th September we will hear the wonderful Kegelstat trio by Mozart , said to have been composed while he was playing billiards–this is the sort of thing that drove Salieri mad with envy, we are led to believe.

On 16th of October it will be your Chairman’s 70th birthday. Our good friends the Courtyard quartet have promised a mixture of music to tickle my fancy and yours too.

On 20 November we have a real coup -some local musicians have teamed up play the Trout quintet by Schubert. This in itself will be a great showpiece but a curiosity will be the Vaughan Williams quintet in C minor. And then we can all swoon to the sound of the Meditation from Thais by Massenet.

Who remembers Alan Keith’s 100 Best tunes? Surely this was one of them.

Look forward to seeing you at the Quaker Meeting House!

Harold
